Free SHIPPING at California Fly Shop

No one wants to pay for shipping so here’s the deal: If you can be happy with standard shipping, we’re happy to pay for it – as long as you’re in the part of the country that can accept ground shipping. If you need something faster than standard, which usually means 7-10 days, then we’re going to have to charge you. How easy is that?

All orders received before 10 a.m. Pacific time Monday- Friday will be shipped on the same business day. If for any reason this is not the case, we will contact you immediately. 

Free RETURNS at California Fly Shop

The biggest problem with buying gear on the Internet is that you can’t be sure about what you’re buying until it shows up. If it’s a rod, you want to cast it. If it’s a reel you want to turn the handle and tighten the drag. We get that. In order to make sure the gear you buy is right for you, we’re offering free returns for all unused gear and merchandise within 30 days of purchase.

Here’s the thing:  if you decide to return the gear back o us, you must send it in the original packaging with the tags on, along with your receipt and in the same condition we sent it to you – which means new. If you get it wet or dirty or in any condition other than pristine you can consider it yours – and we will too.

You use it, you buy it

Rod & Reel Returns:  Rods can be cast on lawns or in a dry environment so you can test the action, but we are unable to accept a return if the rod has any damage, watermarks or has a dirty cork grip. Used reels will not be accepted for return.

Waders & Boots:  Please try on waders and boots inside a clean house to ensure a proper fit before using them for outdoor use. Used boots and waders will not be approved for return, exchange, or credit and will be promptly shipped back to you.

Fly Lines: If it has been spooled onto a reel it cannot be returned.

Flies: As long as they’ve never gotten wet or damaged you can send them back.

Fly Tying Materials: We're sorry, we cannot accept returns for fly tying materials. Please call 800-470-0002 if you have any questions.

Once your return is received and inspected by our staff (usually within 72 hours of receipt), your refund will be processed and a credit will be automatically applied to your credit card or original method of payment within 7 days. Please note that depending on your credit card company, it may take an additional 2-10 business days after your credit is applied for it to post to your account.

Products purchased with gift cards or with gift receipts can be returned for store credit only.

In order to ensure the continuation of our free return shipping service to our clients, we are stringent about enforcing the as-new policy. If the merchandise you purchased is not returned in the new/mint condition you received it, we will not honor our free shipping return service. Used merchandise will be shipped back immediately to the sender and the appropriate shipping charges will be debited from the credit card used for the original purchase.

We reserve the right to deny future services to anyone who abuses our return policies.

Flat rate: $50 + Duties and local taxes (not our local taxes – YOUR local taxes**) 

*Oversize/overweight items may be subject to a shipping surcharge. An oversize item is a large item, such as a rolling duffel bag or float tube, which can be shipped via standard carrier services (UPS, Fedex, etc.), but incurs a higher shipping charge due to the size and/or weight of the item. Oversize shipping charges range from $35.00 and up for ground shipping depending on the size, weight, destination and shipping method selected. If your order contains oversize items, we will contact you via e-mail or phone to quote the additional shipping charges. Once we get your approval, the difference will be applied and your product will be shipped. 

**International orders are not subject to USA taxes. However, it is possible that import duties (like VAT) will be applied by the country of final destination. You are responsible for payment of all applicable duties, taxes and other fees. Please contact your local customs office for information on duties, taxes and restricted items.

IMPORTANT INTERNATIONAL SHIPPING NOTE: Due to high instances of fraud and or issues with local customs offices, we cannot ship to the following international locations:

- Russia
- Thailand
- Singapore

 

How to Return a Product:

1.      Wrap the product in the original packaging, with tags and the original receipt

2.      Close box securely, we are not responsible for product lost during shipping

3.      Use the pre-paid label that came in your original box to ship back to us

4.      Drop the package off at your local shipping office

Products normally take 7-10 days to come back to us. The returned product will be promptly inspected and, provided the product passes inspection, your credit will be applied within seven days.
